Da bin ich wieder. Ich bin noch nicht ganz zufrieden mit dem Layout des Blogs, aber das hat ja keine Eile. Irgendwann nerve ich einfach einen meiner IT-Freunde. Oder einen der Grafiker. Muharhar.
Ich habe in der Vergangenheit bereits mehrfach versucht Storys zu schreiben und Comics zu zeichnen, stehts nach eigenen Ideen. Meist waren es SciFi- und Fantasystorys, stark beeinflusst von was immer ich grade gelesen hatte oder fanboymässig abfeierte. Ich habe auch versucht Drehbücher zu schreiben, einen Webcomic und so weiter. Comedy zu schreiben ist ja mal schlimm.
Ich bin einer dieser Zeichner die ein bisschen von aussen angefüttert werden müssen damit die Kreativitätsmaschine arbeitet, und ich lese unheimlich viele Bücher. Und zu den Besseren davon entsteht in meinem Kopf dann meist bereits ein Film. Oder ein Comic. So ist es auch diesmal ein Buch das mich dazu inspiriert hat meinen Bleistift auszupacken.
Kennt einer von euch "Nick & Norah: Soundtrack einer Nacht"?
In diesem amerikanischen Buch für junge Erwachsene (und scheinbar auch nicht mehr ganz so junge Erwachsene wie mich) geht es um Nick, einem Emopunkboy, Heterobassist einer Queercoreband und Trennungsopfer der auf einem Konzert seiner Band die wundervoll andersartige Norah kennen lernt, eine Straigth-Edgelady aus gutem Hause. Die Beiden verbringen eine Nacht in New York und die beiden Autoren Rachel Cohn und David Levithan spannen eine rührende Liebesgeschichte um Verlust, Loslassen, ein Stückweit erwachsen werden und vor allem Musik.
Das Buch erschien 2006 in Amerika und wurde bald von Hollywood entdeckt und 2008 verfilmt, in den Hauptrollen besetzt mit Michael Cera und Kat Dennings (der ich seitdem absolut verfallen bin). Durch den Film bin ich auf das Buch aufmerksam geworden, auf Bands und auf New York. Natürlich kannte ich die Stadt vorher schon, aber spätestens seit "Nick & Norah" ist es um mich geschehen und ich kann es kaum erwarten irgendwann mal die Chance zu bekommen diese irre Stadt zu besuchen.
Anyhow, mal gepflegt den Faden verloren.
"Nick & Norah" ist eins dieser Bücher die ich zwei bis drei Mal im Jahr lese, einfach weil das Gefühl stimmt. Das Buch macht einfach alles richtig. Desshalb habe ich mich entschlossen daraus eine Graphic Novel zu machen!
Das ganze läuft natürlich absolut unprofessionell und unautorisiert ab, und vor allem ohne den Gedanken an Geld oder so. Hauptsächlich geht es mir darum etwas zu zeichnen das ich liebe, und die Erfahrung.
Soweit zu mir für heute. Nächstes Mal laber ich euch voll mit Inspiration, Künstlern und hoffentlich ersten Skizzen.

Here i am again. I'm not totaly satified with the layout of the blog, but i'm not in a hurry. I will annoy my IT- and Graphic-buddies in a while. Muharhar. Yeah, evil laughter and stuff.
I tried several time before to write a stories from scratch and to draw comics, always by my own ideas. Most of the time scifie and fantasy-stories, heavy influenced by whatever i was reading or fanboying at that time. I also tried to write screenplays, a webcomic and so on. Writing comedy is the worst.
I'm one of these artists you have to give a little something to feed my mind and to get the creativitymachine working smoothly, and i read awefull lot of books. While doing so, the better one create instant movies in my head. Or comics. And so it's a book once again that makes me grab my pen.
Does anyone know "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist"?
This american novel for young adults (and aparently not-so-young adults like me) centers around Nick, an emopunkboy, hetero-bassplayer in a queercoreband and victim of a break-up, who meets the magnicifent different Norah, a straight-edge-lady from a good neighborhood, at one of his bands concerts (I promise, i try to avoid these looong sentences in future posts). Those two spend a night together in New York and the authors, Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, create a heart-warming lovestory about loss, letting go, growing up and, very important, music.
The book was released in America in 2006 and was soon discoverd and made to a major-motion picture in 2008. The leading roll were played by Michael Cera and Kat Dennings (wich i have a celebretiy crush on ever since). Through that movie i discoverd the book, several bands and the city of New York. Of course i knew the city, but since "Nick & Norah" i'm done, fallen in love, and i can't wait to get a chance to visit that crazy city sometime.
Anyhow, totaly lost it. Btt.
"Nick & Norah" is one of these books i read two to three times a year, just because it feels right. That book nails it. That's why i chose it to make it into a graphic novel.
Of course, the whole thing will be absolutely unprofessionell and unauthorised and with no thought spend on money-making. Most important for me is to draw something i love and the experience.
